Why should I use Bitcoin?

I own a few Bitcoins and I'm holding them, but my question is: Why should I use it as a payment method?
My bank is totally free for me until I'm 30. I pay no fees for the debit card, no fee for withdrawing, no bank transfer fee. Nothing. Plus, everyone accepts debit cards.
Could someone give me a few reasons on why should I use Bitcoin as a payment method instead of using my debit card?

Why should I use bitcoin?

I've been playing with bitcoin the last couple weeks. Read up on it, tried to understand it. Got some bitcoin. Made a purchase with bitcoin, etc.
But why? We (I) am still comparing it to the (Canadian) dollar. So I buy bitcoin (pay a fee), then buy something with that bitcoin. What I am paying for that product depends on the value of bitcoin at that point in time...
Isn't it true that in order to REALLY have the advantage of bitcoin, I would need to get my salary paid in bitcoin, and do all my purchases with bitcoin? And look at it as a payment 'on its own' ? Constantly comparing it to a 'real' (sorry) currency just makes bitcoin 'another' currency. I might as well buy Yen with my CAD and then buy products with Yen...
I understand the 'no banks', 'no government' philosophy, but in real life, where is the advantage?
I'm not 'dissing' bitcoin, I just want to understand :)

Why should I use Bitcoins to pay for a VPN?

Hi all, was hoping you could clear up a little in my understanding about VPNs. I was wondering what are the benefits of using bitcoins to pay for my VPN? Let's say there are not logs being stored, so the content of me to the internet is protected (assuming a suitably secure connection to the VPN). An outside authority could however link my IP address to the VPN, so would know i connected to it, but that's all. The one difference that I can think of is that there is a direct connection to an individual, as opposed to say a household.
Also, am i right in thinking that the VPN shares its outside connection with all its users, so that it is not possible (or not trivial) to say backtrack my internet session by linking an address (from the VPN) used to access a site with personally identifiable information with my IP; e.g i connect to gmail through a VPN, but i have connected to my account before directly, so now they have a paper trail linking an IP at the VPN with my own IP. Is it just best practice to not access any accounts over a VPN, as with TOR?
Thanks for your help!

"Bitcoin can move any kind of value, but the most obvious and useful form of value it can move is monetary value. That means putting representations of units of monetary value on the network.".. This line of reasoning is exactly why I think SLP should be at the forefront of BCH adoption strategies
