You know that the value of bitcoin isn’t measured is USD, right? Just because that’s what YOU compare it with to get a PRICE (as opposed to value) doesn’t mean that everyone else does.
If it’s all-time-high in another currency (as per the headline) then it’s likely an indication that the VALUE of that currency has gone way down and thus the PRICE of BTC in that currency has gone way up.

Value store is the primary function. Anything that detracts from this is a step backwards and other coins should tackle.

Hello! I have questions as a new trader. First, I understand blue is profit and red is loss. My question is, how does everything get calculated in? I put in $100 USD worth of bitcoin and have been confused. How does it transfer in terms of these values. Has money been lost? Gained? What percent?

I don't think most people in Bitcoin actually know what a store of value is. You don't define it purely in terms of price, but by its predictable usefulness upon future retrieval.

You can’t make this shit up, folks. This is not a satire. This is ACTUALLY what the insane Bitcoin BTC proponents believe. They ACTUALLY believe that you shouldn’t use Bitcoin BTC... that it will somehow gain value by NOBODY USING IT. This is why Bitcoin Cash BCH, never Bitcoin BTC.

Ok, SO. How does bitcoin have value? What is it? And what is a share, just buying a tiny tiny piece of that company?

I might be high, but how in the hell is there value in these things? You can at least hold regular money.

Recently I asked in an investment forum, what is a better store of value then bitcoin ...

No one could answer me. They just continued bashing bitcoin. What options an ordidanry man has? Real estate - high entry value, slow transactions, indivisble, can be seized, cannot be used to buy coffee. Gold - difficult to store, difficult to divide, can be seized, good luck crossing border with few kilos of gold. Stocks - risky, indivisble, sometimes more volatile than bitcoin, slow transactions, cannot be used to buy coffee, can be seized. Saving acount - Prone to inflation, can be seized Fine art - Prone to forgery, indivisible, cannot be used to buy coffee, requires special knowledge, high entry value, expensive to store. Bitcoin, compared to all of them - international, divisible, fast transactions, cannot be forged, difficult to seize, limited in volume, cheap to store.

Fiat pegged value is illusory: A gallon of milk now cost roughly twice what it did 10 years go in US dollars. A gallon of milk costs about 1/1000 what it did in bitcoins 5 years ago.

Fiat pegged value is illusory: A gallon of milk now cost roughly twice what it did 10 years go in US dollars. A gallon of milk costs about 1/1000 what it did in bitcoins 5 years ago.
Yet people say fiat like the us dollar is somehow more secure. They talk aboit bitcoin not being "pegged" to anything.. No paper currency is pegged to anything and since all governments are printing paper currency endlessly it is guaranteed to slip in value more than something like bitcoin which is firmly limited in number to apprx 21 million.
Fiat Currency is demonstrably LESS "pegged" as the numbers above show.
So many concepts that people throw around as criticisms of bitcoin they universally accept with their fiat without even a thought.
